Niki Coello
started his racing career in 1991 driving a 2-cycle restricted junior-pipe
kart at Badger Kart Club in Dousman, Wisconsin. Their after Niki raced
every year moving up in the ranks and continuously leaving each race with
a first place trophy. In 1992 he won his first Manufacturers Cup and also
set the fastest time. He continued to win the first IKF Divisional race
he ever entered at the Illinois-Missouri Sprint challenge in Yamaha
Sportsman in1993. As if that’s not enough Niki went on to be the first
American in the CIK/FIA European Championships. He completed all four
rounds and finished in the top 20 in Corridonia, Italy. In the World
Championship’s in 1997 in Salbris France, Niki was the first North
American qualifier after all heat races and set two fast times. He would
have finished on top, but an accident prevented him from achieving further
results in the finals. In 1998 Niki took first place in round one and
two, at the Manufacturer’s Cup World Championships. He was the highest
American qualifier in Ugento, Italy. In 1999, in attempt to further his
racing career, Niki had a two-day test in a Formula Ford 2000.
